Grief Quilts are a way to honour our most beautiful memories through something tangible that you can touch, hold and wrap yourself into.
What is a Grief Quilt?
A Custom Grief Quilt is a handmade, lap-sized quilt created from clothing or textiles that belonged to your person. It’s sewn in an improvisational style: organic, soulful, and guided by intuition. I don’t use perfect patterns or rigid rules, just gentle stitching, heartfelt creativity, and deep respect for the materials you send me.
Each quilt is unique, just like your relationship was. And woven into it are meaningful, hand-embroidered messages – phrases, dates, names, or quotes that speak to the love you shared.
The Process
You send the textiles
Clothing, fabrics, or materials that remind you of your loved one—anything that carries their essence. I’ll guide you on how much to send and how to package it.
We connect
Before I begin, we’ll have a check-in via email or voice note. You can share a bit about your person, what you’re hoping for, and any phrases you’d like included.
I create your quilt
Over the course of 4–6 weeks, I’ll design and sew your quilt slowly and intentionally. I’ll keep you updated along the way and handle each piece with great care.
It comes home to you
When it’s ready, your quilt will arrive wrapped with love and a handwritten note—something soft and steady to hold onto when the ache is big.
Investment:
£400–£800, depending on the size, amount of materials, and complexity of embroidery.
